Conversation with dou dou @ almost 33 months

Me: Darling, we take our dinner at the dining table. Sit Down!

Dou: Mummy, why lao ma (her great grandma) and her friend por por (my grandma's room-mate at the nursing home) eat on the(ir) beds?

Me: ._.III

Dou: Mummy, where do trains travel on?

Me: Rail

Dou: Where do bus travel on?

Me: Bus

Dou: Why can't bus travel on rails?

Me: ..................

Ah ma: DOU! Mei Chuan Yi, Bu Yao Chu Qu!

Dou: Ah ma! Wo mei you chu qu... who zhi shi kai men er yi!

Ah ma: grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Daddy: Dou Dou! (Daddy gave her some instructions to do something...)

Dou: Daddy, don't disturb me! I'm working!

* I swear I don't say such things to her!

Teacher's comment

Sumana understands all the ground rules in the classroom.

But at times, she will try her “luck” to break it.

Sometimes when one teacher does not allow her to do a particular activity, she will ask the other hoping that the other teacher will agree. L

And yes... the teacher drew the face at the end of the comment. What does it tell you about our beanie? Should I laugh or cry?

Dou: Mummy, I don't know how to sleep. I DON'T KNOW how to sleep!

Me: *Piak forehead

Grandpa: There's no one at the playground.

Dou: Ah gong, I am SOMEONE

Me: Where's Daddy, rui?

Dou: Mummy, he's SOMEwhere... (Cheeky smile)

Dou said out of the blue one day: Mummy, can you ask Daddy to ORDER A Di Di (brother) please?

Me: Ok, we'll try to order.

Dou: But I want didi NOW.

Me: Ok, we'll try. Sometimes the stock takes a little longer to arrive, ok?

Dou: Why take so long?

Me: ._.III

Ah ma: Doudou, ah ma sells ah gong away in the market, ok?

Dou: Cannot! He's MY ah gong! Cannot sell!

Me: Rui, we're going to Lao ma's house today.

Dou: Mummy, it's a NURSING HOME.

(My gosh... she knows the difference.)

vital stats @ 32 months

Height: About 92cm

Weight: About 14.5kg

Temperament: Tantrum thrower, active, cannot sit still, don't like details, cannot stop talking and asking WHYs.

Why is it raining? Why is the sky dark? Why do u have to clean my hand? Why do we need to bath? Why are you (mummy) wearing this shoe? Why... why... why... (U get the picture).

Teacher Sheila at julia gab (Dou simply loves her speech and drama class). I think it suits her drama mama character!
Drawing monsters... (This is the best so far. i think i can strike off "artist" as her potential career choice...) She's still working on drawing caterpillars, bus and oh... tiny people in the bus.

By the way, dou gets scared of the monsters she draws. She would run to me saying: Mummy! I am scared of that monster's eyes. My reply? Don't draw such big eyes in the future!

We finally got down to visiting baby jj,gan mummy and gan daddy after the kids recovered from their bouts of flu cough and what have u... Gan mummy said jj hadn't slept since 10 am in the morning so he was snoring happily when we reached Bishan at about 7pm. Mr handsome boy only woke up for his feed when we were about to go home and here's a glimpse of gan daddy feeding the little fella as dou watched on eagerly!
